New Orleans by way of Dublin
The John Byrne Band has been together over 7 years, much of which has been spent touring the US and Ireland/UK. Their sound has been compared to Steve Earle, the Pogues and Tom Waits. With the multi-instrumentalist lineup, the John Byrne Band incorporates traditional folk instruments such as fiddle, accordion and banjo, along with horns and electric guitars. Their high energy show has appeared on festival stages nationwide including a performance at the Constitution Center for former President Clinton and world leaders. Audiences of all ages react to the band’s eclectic mix of folk, rock and Americana, with a touch of New Orleans.
Led by Dubliner John Byrne, the band’s latest recording, The Immigrant and the Orphan was released to a sold out crowd at World Café Live in Sept 2015 and a standing room only show at the Mercantile in Dublin, Ireland.
